The Peterborough Regional Science fair takes place on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Trent University. Participants include Grades K through to Grade 12. Registration closes Wednesday March 21

Prizes for different grade and subject categories / Cash prizes, university scholarships, draw prizes / Grand Prize winners travel on a all-expenses paid trip to the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Ottawa, Ontario*

Fair Day Schedule

8:00 – 8:45 AM: Project Setup

Please enter through the doors near the flagpole (Praxair cylinders) to the Science Complex just like in previous years. Ushers will direct you to the room you have been assigned to, either in the Chemical Science Building, or the Environmental Science Building. The room assignment list will be posted by April 2 on this site, and we will also have room assignment lists at the entrance.

9:00 – 11:40 AM: Regular Judging

The judging schedule will be posted individually for each project. Students are responsible for being available at their project during their assigned judging times. Multiple judges will visit each project.

11:40 AM – 12 noon: Public Viewing and Judging for Special Awards

Students should remain close to their projects and be prepared to answer questions.

12 noon – 12: 30 PM: Lunch Break

Participants are reminded that they should arrange for a friend or parent to watch over their display in their absence, particularly if valuable equipment is involved. Lunch is not provided but the Otonabee Market Place Cafeteria in Otonabee College (near Wenjack Theatre) will be open for people who want to purchase food. A seating area is available there also. Please be aware that this area is not supervised, and that students need permission from parents or teachers to visit the Cafeteria.

12:30 – 2:00 PM: Public Viewing and Judging for Special Awards

Students should remain close to their projects and be prepared to answer questions.

2:00 – 2:30 PM: Project Takedown

Please ensure you remove all your project materials.

2:30 – 3:30 PM: Guest Speaker in Wenjack Theatre

All participants are welcome

3:30 – 4:30 PM: Awards Ceremony in Wenjack Theatre

All participants are welcome.  Please note that the Awards Ceremony will not be over before 4:30 pm, in case you need to make special arrangements for your students’ transportation home.
