City of Peterborough Fire Chief, Chris Snetsinger, announced today that Chad Brown will be
the new Deputy Fire Chief effective October 14, 2014.

Mr. Brown has over 20 years experience with progressive responsibility within the fire and
emergency management fields.

Since 2008, Mr. Brown has been employed as a Program Specialist with the Office of the Fire
Marshal and Emergency Management. In that role he has provided advice and assistance to
municipalities throughout Ontario specific to the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, its
regulations and subsequent Public Fire Safety Guidelines. He has also undertaken detailed
reviews of municipal fire services.
Prior to joining the Fire Marshal Office, Mr. Brown held direct fire fighting roles in several
municipal fire departments.

Mr. Brown resides in Keene Ontario with his wife and three children.

A bylaw will be presented to City Council on September 29, 2014 to officially appoint Mr.
Brown to the Deputy Fire Chief position.
