The City of Peterborough is updating our current Accessibility Plan. To help inform the updates, we are seeking input from people who visit, live and work in Peterborough.
If you are a person with a disability, or you care or advocate for someone with a disability, we want to hear about your experiences. Everyone is invited to participate in the survey to help set priorities and clear goals for the next phase of accessibility planning in Peterborough.
The survey is online at www.peterborough.ca/AccessibilityPlanSurvey.
It will be available until 4:30 p.m. on Friday August 25, 2017.
Public engagement will provide a better understanding of the experiences of residents and visitors with disabilities who use City goods, services and facilities. We also hope to build awareness of accessibility and help to highlight the importance of creating a more inclusive community.
We formatted the survey with accessibility in mind. However, we recognize that not all people access information in the same way. If you need help completing the survey or require an alternative format, we would like to work with you to accommodate your needs. Please contact the Accessibility Office to discuss options by phone 705-742-7777 extension 1630 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Your input is important. We will provide a summary of the survey results on the City’s website www.peterborough.ca and complete further consultation with the City’s Accessibility Advisory Committee. Once complete, the updated Accessibility Plan will be posted to www.peterborough.ca/accessibility and used to ensure that the City of Peterborough remains compliant with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
