The Canadian Cancer Society is partnering with the Peterborough Petes to host the 7th annual Pink in the Rink on Saturday, February 6, 2016. The purpose of this event is to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society to support lifesaving cancer research for women; cervical, vaginal, uterine, breast and ovarian.
100% of the proceeds from this event will go directly to funding womens cancer research. Since 2010 more than $360,000 has been raised for the Canadian Cancer Society.
The Peterborough Petes are celebrating their 60th anniversary in 2016 and the Honourary Chairs for this years event represent each decade:
1950’s Pat Casey
1960’s Wayne Boddy
1970’s Greg Theberge
1980’s Jody Hull
1990’s Steve Webb
2000’s Jeff MacDougald
2010’s Dylan Wells
Each Honourary Chair has agreed to raise a minimum of $5000 for the fight against cancer.
The goal for Pink in the Rink event in 2016 is $85,000.
