March is Easter Seals Month

March is Easter Seals Month is the beginning of Easter Seals Ontario’s annual fundraising and awareness campaign for kids with physical disabilities. We introduce you to Zach and his mom. Zach is the 2016 Peterborough Easter Seals Ambassador. Thanks to Easter Seals Ontario Zach will be attending a fully accessible camp this summer. We look forward to the upcoming Easter Seals Telethon broadcasting live April 10 from 10am – 4pm. With your support Easter Seals Ontario will be able to send more kids to Camp and provide much needed equipment for mobility, speech and other challenges. The annual Easter Seals Telethon celebrates success stories, introduces new Provincial Easter Seals Ambassadors, showcases Easter Seals kids and their families, and recognizes those donors and sponsors who have helped us so much. 29th Rotary/Carl Oake Swimathon

The 29th Rotary/Carl Oake Swimathon will take place on Friday, February 13th, in the YMCA pool from 7:00 to 8:30 am. Over the past 33 years, this event has raised more than $900,000 to support local worthwhile causes such as Easter Seals, 5 Counties Children Foundation, The New Peterborough Regional Health Centre, the New YMCA, the YWCA Women’s Crossroads Shelter, The Rotary Greenway Trail and Musicfest, to name a few. This year’s goal is to raise $55,000 through the efforts of, we hope, over 40 teams taking part in swimming…
