September 2016 Housing Starts in Peterborough

Housing starts in the Peterborough Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) were trending up at 656 units in September compared to 524 units in August, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). The trend is a six month moving average of the monthly seasonally adjusted annual rates (SAAR) of housing starts. “Demand for new homes has proved resilient. Peterborough’s Sylvie Copland, Winner of National Award

St. Catherine Catholic Elementary School’s Sylvie Copland has received $2,500 for school programming and supplies as a top winner of the 10th annual Canadian Family Teacher Awards. Sylvie was presented with her winning prize money, an enlarged cheque, as well as other prizes during an award ceremony at her home school.
